About the organisation
Since 1931, the Good Friday Appeal has raised funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne. Thanks to the support of the community, the Appeal helps the RCH provide life saving care and improve the health of sick children.
Funds raised through the Appeal enable the RCH to be one of the best children’s hospitals in the world by funding state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, ground-breaking research projects, education and training to foster staff excellence, and patient and family-centred care programs
The Appeal brings together people from all sectors of the community to raise funds every year, culminating in a telethon on Good Friday.
About the role
This key role is responsible for supporting regional fundraisers, Volunteers and organisations, growing the funds raised from Regional Victoria, currently at $5.2M.
Along with the GM, Fundraising and Communications, you’ll develop and implement a regional fundraising strategy that focuses on supporting and retaining our all important regional fundraisers (aka Area Managers) including managing appropriate acknowledgement activities and supporting them in their fundraising activities, providing advice and resources and keeping them informed about Appeal activities and impact.
You’ll also be looking for growth in the fundraising revenue from Regional Victoria and Southern NSW which may come through partnering with aligned organisations and businesses.
This role also works with our PR Agency and Telethon to share inspiring stories of local fundraisers, volunteers and families. You are responsible for the operational requirements for our fundraisers and collection groups, and support the Regionally Tally Room process on Appeal Day.
You’ll have 3-5 years of experience in community fundraising and/or working with Volunteers. You enjoy talking to people from all walks of life, establishing rapport and building relationships quickly. You are able to work efficiently and effectively, managing shifting priorities. You have both strong written and verbal communication skills, experienced in Salesforce, and are able to identify opportunities and act on them.
